Re-using water & air filled plastic bottles in a Polypropylene Woven Tube to wrap around a tree as an impact absorbing crash barrier

Re-using water & air filled plastic bottles in a Polypropylene Woven Tube to wrap around a tree as a crash barrier / impact absorber.

A new idea from Paul Ridley . Cabinz project

360mm Woven Polypropylene Tubing (1000m roll) can be bought for £310  Here
so price is 30p a mtr

Empty used plastic bottles , preferably 2 ltr type are filled with water , air or polystyrene chippings and inserted into the tube (exact position to be determined )

Perhaps with tops poking out the top through the pp tube weave so they can be filled with water on site . Lids being replaced & poss glued on .

Bottles could be fastened in place with stitching or cable ties

The tube should be in a bark  / green moss colour to blend in with tree.

The tube is wrapped around tree or lamp post / telegraph pole e/ along brick wall etc to the desired thickness of protection, then ends fastened in place.

This idea has not been tested or prototyped as yet
